How does PhotoSpring work with Google Photos?
We made it super easy to connect your PhotoSpring frame to your Google Photos accounts.
Once connected, our amazing technology will automatically mirror all the albums within those accounts every hour. That means the entire contents of your Google Photos albums will be downloaded to your frame in no time! Plus, if you add or delete any photos or albums from Google Photos, those changes will be reflected on your frame within just an hour.
Do keep in mind that while photos sync seamlessly, videos won't sync to the frame with Google Photos just yet. But we're working on it!
Technical
How do I setup my frame?
1. Connect your frame to WIFI by following the on-screen instructions. If you prefer to load your photos using a USB drive, simply insert it into the USB port on your frame and follow the instructions to import your photos.
2. Once your frame is connected, you can create a dedicated email address for your frame. This email address will be used for friends and family to send photos and videos directly to your frame. Note that there are many ways to share photos, like the Google Cloud, PhotoSpring App, the Web and more!
3. Your frame will automatically start displaying your photos as soon as they are loaded. You can have fun creating albums and slideshows to customize your viewing experience.
Does PhotoSpring require an Internet connection to work?
Once you've loaded your frame with all your favorite photos and videos, you can actually browse and display them without needing an internet connection. Plus, if you prefer, you can also load your photos and videos using an SD card or USB drive.
That being said, there are a few features that do require a working WiFi connection, such as sending new photos and videos to your frame from different locations, receiving important software updates, and managing your frame's connections. But not to worry, as long as you have a connection, PhotoSpring is ready to keep your memories at your fingertips, no matter where you are!
Do you support USB and/or SD Cards?
Exciting news! Adding photos to your PhotoSpring frame is now easier than ever with our built-in USB drive. No WiFi connection is required. Plus, we're always striving to improve our frames, and we're thrilled to announce that we're working on launching the next models with SD card slots. Keep an eye out for updates!
How are photos shown on PhotoSpring?
First up, you can showcase your photos in a snazzy slideshow mode. Simply swipe left or right to go to the next or previous photo. And if you want to take a closer look at a particular photo, just pause the slideshow and enjoy it all on its own.
Or, if you're feeling like browsing through your photos as part of an album, photos appear as small thumbnail photos, and you can easily swipe up or down to view entire rows of photos from the album.
How do new photos appear?
When you load photos onto PhotoSpring, they are automatically organized into an album. And if you happen to add new photos to an album that's currently being played, PhotoSpring is smart enough to automatically display those new photos and videos! Cool, right?
Of course, if you want to see all your photos and videos in one place, you can always switch over to the All Photos & Videos album. And if you want to check out the most recent additions to your collection, just hop on over to the Recent Photos album. With PhotoSpring, you're always in control of your memories!
What are the display settings?
The digital frame is capable of displaying photos in both portrait and landscape orientation, and will automatically rotate photos as needed. Additionally, you can choose to display the entire photo or use the entire screen for a more immersive viewing experience.
You can also change the speed of transition from 3 seconds to hour depending on your preference.

In addition to storing up to 10,000 photos, your PhotoSpring frame can also hold and play up to 1GB of high-definition quality videos or GIFs with sound. Enjoy reliving your favorite moments in stunning detail and clarity.
How long does the battery last?
When we first started out, our frames could run for about 4 hours on a single charge. But now, with our latest models, we've been able to boost that up to a solid 6-7 hours! Of course, how long the battery lasts depends on how you're using your frame, but we're always striving to give you as much time as possible to enjoy your precious memories.
Does the frame need to be plugged in?
If you're looking for a frame that can run without being plugged in, we've got battery-powered ones that can last up to 5 hours.
And if that's not enough, we offer extended batteries that can keep your frame going for up to 10 hours! Perfect for weddings, parties, or any event where you want to keep your memories on display all day long.
Does the frame have the option for sleep-mode?
Your PhotoSpring frame can be scheduled to display photos at any hours that suit your preferences. You can customize schedules separately for weekdays and weekends.
Can you preload photos to a frame prior to gifting it?
Absolutely! You can preload photos onto the frame before giving it as a gift, and even schedule photos to appear on a specific date up to 90 days in advance.
Can I export photos from the frame?
Certainly! With our frame, you can easily share your favorite photos and videos with your loved ones. Simply navigate to the photo or video you wish to share, select the share icon, and enter the email address of the recipient. It's that easy!
Does PhotoSpring work outside of the US?
When it comes to using PhotoSpring, there are two things to consider: power and internet. Our frames are designed to work with AC power from 110v to 220v, and our AC adapter plugs are designed to fit US-style outlets. If you're using your frame in a country with different outlet plug shapes, you'll need to grab a plug adapter to make it work.
As for internet, as long as you have access to WiFi, you're good to go! PhotoSpring is all about keeping your memories at your fingertips, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy your photos and videos no matter where you are in the world. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out - we're here to help!
